Cookie Policy
Effective: May 17, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how LicensePulse ("LicensePulse", "we") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at https://licensepulse.app and our application at https://app.licensepulse.app. By continuing to use our sites, you consent to the use of cookies as described below, except where consent is required by law (e.g. EU/UK), in which case our cookie banner gathers your choice.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies remember preferences, keep you logged in, and help us understand how the site is used. "Similar technologies" include local storage and session storage.
2. Categories of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Lawful basis (EU) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, security, session management. The Service cannot function without these. | lp_session, CSRF token |
Legitimate interest (no consent required) |
| Functional | Remember preferences (e.g. UI theme, language) | lp_prefs |
Consent |
| Analytics | Understand aggregated usage to improve the product | (none today — when added, listed here) | Consent |
| Advertising | We do not use advertising cookies. | — | — |
3. Third parties
When you connect a third-party integration (Microsoft, Salesforce, etc.), that provider may set its own cookies during the OAuth flow. We don't control those — see the provider's policy.
We do not place third-party advertising or social-media tracking cookies on the Service.
4. How long do cookies stay?
| Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|
| Session cookies | Until you close the browser |
| Authentication cookies | Up to 30 days, sliding expiration on activity |
| Functional cookies | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics cookies (if any) | Per the analytics provider, typically 12–24 months |
5. How to control cookies
- In our app: a banner on first visit lets EU/UK users accept or reject non-strictly-necessary cookies. You can change your choice via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
- Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Doing so for strictly-necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in.
- Do Not Track: we honor DNT signals as a refusal of non-strictly-necessary cookies.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): we treat GPC signals as opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" for CCPA purposes (we don't sell or share, but we honor the signal anyway).
6. Changes
If we change this policy materially, we'll update the "Effective" date and surface a notice in-app or by email.
